The "Silver-Smith's" Jewelry is based out of Montello, WI and recently celebrated 50 years in business! We are a one-stop shop for all your jewelry needs. We offer an extensive selection of new and consignment pieces made with a variety of materials, including gold, silver, black hills gold, turquoise, gemstones, birthstones, precious and semi-precious items. Our team is passionate about helping our customers find the right pieces that make them look and feel their best. We offer local repair services to those in the Montello area too! As we continue to work at closing the physical store, we remain open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10am - 5pm and Sundays 11am - 2pm. HOW IT ALL STARTED
Hi, I'm Karen Smith! 48 year ago, I lived in Milwaukee, WI and worked for a local jeweler but soon found myself laid off. Shortly after, my husband, Jay and I took a trip to New Mexico to see family. While in New Mexico, we were approached about purchasing someone's Turquoise jewelry collection. With my background in jewelry, I thought this was a great way to start my own store and bounce back after being laid of. So, I invested all of our life savings to purchase this inventory. Soon after investing, I found out my husband had also been laid off and we needed to move.
We were in a predicament, both laid off with no place to live, we traveled North from Milwaukee to Montello, WI to stay in our vacation camper. As we got settled, things started looking up, after arriving we found a store front where I could start selling the Turquoise I had purchased, and The "Silver Smith's" Jewelry was born.​
The rest is history, 48 years later we continued to expand and grow with the needs of our customers. First with Turquoise, then Black Hills Gold, to Gold, Silver and even custom pieces; we quickly became the store we are today! A full service jeweler helping our customers look and feel their best!
